# Cost explorer

> Slice your cost data and trace any total to its line items

Where the dashboard gives you the headline view, the **cost explorer** lets you get down to the individual FOCUS line items and trace any number back to its source.

## Filter and browse

Narrow the data with filters — date range, provider, service category, subscription/tenancy, region, and resource group — then browse the matching **line-item records** (resource name and ID, compartment, cost). Because every figure comes from SQL over your ingested data, what you see always reconciles back to the source.

## Export and clean up

* **Export** the current view to **CSV** for offline analysis or sharing.
* **Purge** ingested data for a scope when you need to clear or re-load it (a confirmation step guards against accidents).
